Start by separating an empty Feed from a silent device
Open Feed in the Flipinator account that owns the search. Check whether your current Feed filters are hiding results, and clear those view filters before deciding that the search has found nothing. Filtering a view is different from changing the saved search: first establish what is already there.
If Feed contains relevant matches but your device did not alert, leave the search criteria alone. Check the current-device alert status in Settings and the browser or operating-system notification permission. Browser and mobile device alerts work after permission on each device. Turning permission off does not stop an active search or remove its matches from Feed.
Confirm the saved search can run before changing its words
In Searches, open the affected search and read its active or paused state, any attention message, marketplace, location and checking interval. A search waiting for capacity will not start because you remove a keyword. Resolve the stated problem first, and review the saved details after resuming or correcting it.
Each search watches one marketplace and uses one active slot at its selected timing. An available slot at another timing is not interchangeable with the one this search needs. If your account has the appropriate capacity, check that the search is actually active rather than assuming that a saved entry is watching. Help is the next step when an attention message cannot be resolved through the offered action.
Compare the search with one plausible original listing
Look at a small sample on the selected marketplace, not an endless browsing session. Choose a listing that genuinely represents the item you want and compare its seller wording, model, location, price and condition with your saved brief. This is a test of the brief, not proof that every visible listing should have appeared as a new match.
For example, a seller may call the item a dining table while your keyword says compact solid timber four-seat dining setting. Use recognisable item words for the search keyword, then explain size, material and whether chairs must be included in the AI match criteria. Review the two fields separately. Do not replace an exact compatibility identifier with a vague category just to increase the number of results.
Check where the search is looking and which controls apply
Confirm the selected marketplace and saved country or place. Similar town names, a remembered location from a previous buying job or an impractical collection area can make a sensible item search quiet. Use the supported location choices shown for that marketplace. Where a place is required, select the intended result from the location suggestions rather than leaving ambiguous text.
Distance, category and condition options differ between marketplaces. Review the controls actually offered instead of assuming a radius or condition choice works everywhere. For an eBay search saved across your account country, review that country rather than trying to fix it with a nearby radius. For collected items, verify whether the search area represents a journey you could realistically make.
Change one optional restriction and keep the essential identity
Make a short distinction between must-haves and preferences. Compatibility, safe working condition and a genuine spending ceiling may be essential. Colour, cosmetic wear or an included non-essential accessory may be negotiable. Remove the least important restriction first and record for yourself what changed and when, so you can judge the next candidates against the correct version.
Consider a replacement shelf that must fit a particular cabinet but need not match its finish. Keep the model and dimensions, relax the finish preference and inspect the next listings. Check title exclusions as well: leaving out set could hide a seller offering the needed piece inside a larger set. Do not raise the price beyond what you can afford or widen collection beyond a feasible trip merely to make Feed busier.
Give a rare item a bounded waiting plan
A discontinued part or unusual size can remain quiet even with a clear brief. Compare the available candidates with the actual buying need before interpreting silence as failure. There is no universal number of hours after which every search should produce a match. Faster checking cannot make a seller list an item that is not available.
Choose a review point that leaves time for your next step, especially if the item is needed for a project or event. Keep the criteria stable long enough to learn from new activity. If another supported marketplace is a practical source, create and review a separate search with another suitable slot. If the deadline is approaching, consider a workable substitute, borrowing or hiring instead of removing essential requirements.
Escalate the specific problem without sharing private details
If the search remains quiet after these checks, use Help or the Flipinator support route. Explain the buying goal, marketplace, active state, approximate time of the problem and the safe steps you tried. Distinguish no matches in Feed from matches without device alerts, because those lead to different troubleshooting.
You do not need to send a password, sign-in code or device token. Describe an attention message in ordinary words and provide only the relevant context requested by support. While the issue is unresolved, use the original marketplace to assess current candidates if needed; do not assume an alert will meet a purchase deadline.
A practical checklist
- Clear Feed view filters before diagnosing an empty result.
- Separate missing matches from missing device alerts.
- Check active state, attention messages and timing-specific capacity.
- Verify the marketplace and saved country or confirmed place.
- Compare seller wording with the keyword and AI match criteria.
- Relax one optional limit while preserving compatibility and budget.
- Set a review point and a practical fallback for urgent needs.
- Use Help for an unresolved problem without sharing sign-in secrets.
Common questions
Why can I see listings on the marketplace but none in Feed?
Check the saved marketplace, location, active state, supported filters and match criteria, plus any Feed view filters. A visible marketplace listing is not by itself evidence that it should arrive as a new match. Compare one genuinely suitable example with the saved brief.
Will a faster checking interval fix a rare-item search?
Not necessarily. An interval affects when an active search checks, not whether sellers offer the required item. Review the brief and availability first, and use only the timing supported by your account and marketplace.
Should I remove every filter to see whether the search works?
No. That can turn a useful search into unrelated results. Confirm active state and location first, then change one optional restriction while retaining the identity, compatibility and affordable budget that make the item useful.
When should I stop waiting?
Use the date when you need a usable item and allow time for verification, transport and setup. Choose a fallback before that date. A rare search may stay useful longer when there is no deadline, but should be paused when the buying need ends.
