Save a search before enabling notifications
Finish one search, confirm its marketplace, location, item details and timing, then save it. Flipinator can now explain why alerts on this device would help. Choose the alert action only when you are ready for the browser or operating system to show its permission request. The search itself has no delivery menu.
If you choose Not now or decline the device request, the active search can still find matches and place them in Feed. Permission affects what this particular device can show. It does not pause the search, remove past matches or change the registered devices you use elsewhere.
Set up every useful device separately
Permission does not travel automatically from a laptop to a phone, from one browser to another or from a mobile app to the web. Sign in on each useful device and review its alert status in Flipinator Settings. When permission is allowed, Flipinator registers that installation so new matching listings can produce an alert there.
Choose devices according to the buying job. A phone may suit a time-sensitive bicycle search, while a home tablet may be enough for a long furniture search. Sound, badges, Focus modes, quiet delivery and notification summaries remain in the browser or operating-system settings, where they can be adjusted without changing the saved search.
Check Feed when notifications are missing
When an expected notification does not appear, open Feed first. A new match in Feed shows that the search produced a result, so the next check is this device. Review its permission, confirm the app or browser is allowed to show notifications, then use the current-device status in Settings to retry registration.
If Feed has no new match, leave the device permission alone and review the search instead. Confirm it is active, attached to the intended marketplace and using a confirmed location. Check whether price, distance, condition, required words or dealbreakers have made it too narrow. One diagnosis path avoids changing a working device and search at the same time.
Recover from blocked or unsupported alerts
A denied permission normally needs to be changed in the browser or operating-system settings. Repeatedly pressing an alert button cannot force the system request to appear again. Return to Flipinator Settings after allowing the permission so the current device can reconcile its alert registration.
Some browsers or devices cannot show browser alerts. Feed remains the reliable place to review matches, and another supported browser or the mobile app may be more suitable. If Settings reports that alerts need attention, retry once on a stable connection and use Flipinator support if the state persists.
Know what an alert confirms
An alert means Flipinator found a listing that matched one active search. It does not reserve the item, prove that it is still available or verify the seller, condition, authenticity or total cost. Open the original marketplace listing and complete the checks appropriate to the purchase.
Pause or refine a search when repeated alerts are not useful. Each search watches one marketplace and uses one slot at its selected timing, so the cleanest fix is usually in that search rather than in a global device setting. Keep permission for the device if other active searches still deserve a timely heads-up.
A practical checklist
- Save and review one active search first.
- Allow alerts separately on each useful device.
- Check Feed before changing notification settings.
- Review browser or operating-system permission when Feed has a match.
- Review the saved search when Feed is also quiet.
- Open the original listing before acting.
- Never share a sign-in code or device token.
Common questions
Will match messages arrive in my inbox?
No. Flipinator uses browser and native mobile push after permission. Feed remains available everywhere you sign in.
Why did no prompt appear on my first visit?
That is intentional. Flipinator asks after a saved search provides context or when you deliberately use the alert action in Settings.
Why do alerts work on my phone but not my laptop?
Each app or browser needs its own permission and registration. Check the laptop browser’s site permission and the current-device status in Flipinator Settings.
Will turning off notifications stop the search?
No. Device permission controls interruption on that device. The active search and its matches in Feed remain separate.
