Choose the action and the place to check
In Manual setup, open Advanced options and add a word filter. Choose Require a match or Exclude a match, then select Listing title. Type comma-separated words or phrases. Matching ignores capitals, so “Nikon” and “nikon” do not need separate entries.
A title filter checks the listing title, not every detail on the seller’s page. A useful specification buried in the description may therefore be absent from the title. Use AI match criteria for requirements that need meaning and context rather than insisting every seller uses your exact heading.
Use alternatives within a filter and requirements across filters
Any value within one filter can trigger that filter. A Require a match filter containing “sofa, couch” accepts a title containing either term. Adding another Require a match filter for “leather” means the title must also satisfy that second requirement. Separate required filters are all checked.
For an Exclude a match filter, any matching value can remove the listing. Begin with a distinctive phrase such as “cover only” rather than a broad word such as “cover”, which could appear in an otherwise useful sofa listing. Quoted phrases make those boundaries clearer.
Check what your filters could remove
Write two plausible titles before saving: one you want and one you want to reject. For example, “Oak dining table with six chairs” should not be lost merely because you excluded chairs while searching for a table. An exclusion cannot understand that the extra item is a bonus.
After the search has new activity, compare the matches and the Filtered out view in Feed. Change the filter responsible for a repeated mistake instead of adding more unrelated restrictions. Keep a shortlist of true dealbreakers, and let listing review handle negotiable preferences.
A practical checklist
- Open Manual setup and Advanced options.
- Choose Require a match or Exclude a match.
- Set Listing title as the place to check.
- Group alternatives with commas.
- Test the wording against a good and bad example title.
Common questions
Does every comma-separated word have to appear?
No. Any value can satisfy one filter. Use separate required filters when both groups must match.
Will excluding a word check the description?
A filter set to Listing title checks the title. Use AI match criteria for broader listing meaning.
How many word filters can I add?
The composer allows up to 25 filters. A few precise filters are usually easier to maintain than a long exclusion list.
