When to pause, edit or delete a marketplace search

A saved search is a reusable buying brief. Pause it when the need may return, edit it when the same job has changed, start another search when the source or item is different, and delete only when the setup has no future value.

Pause a search when the stop is temporary

Pause after buying while you confirm the item is suitable, during travel, when the budget is on hold or when another search matters more. The saved keyword, marketplace, confirmed location, limits and match details remain available. Pausing also frees that search slot at its selected timing for another active search.

A pause is often better than adding artificial exclusions merely to make a search quiet. If a collection arrangement falls through or the item is returned, the original buying brief is ready to resume. Feed remains available for previous matches, while a paused search does not keep looking for new ones.

Edit when the buying job is still the same

Edit after real listings reveal one repeat problem. You might raise a realistic budget, widen a collection distance, correct a model name, require the complete item or remove a preference that hides acceptable alternatives. Change one important detail at a time so the next matches show whether it helped.

Review the full summary before saving an edit. Confirm the keyword, one selected marketplace, location, price, condition and AI match criteria still describe the same purchase. A small change can accidentally conflict with an older requirement, such as widening acceptable models while retaining one exact model in the match details.

Start another search for a different source or job

Create a separate search when you want to watch another marketplace. Every Flipinator search watches one marketplace and uses one slot at its selected timing. Keeping the searches separate preserves the right location, available controls, status and Feed context for each source.

A materially different item also deserves its own search. A complete laptop and replacement charger, a working bicycle and donor frame, or a turntable and separate speakers need different budgets and listing checks. Starting from a familiar brief can be useful, but review every detail before saving the new search.

Check alerts and capacity before changing good criteria

If a search seems silent, first confirm that it is active and that matches are not already appearing in Feed. Browser and mobile alerts depend on permission on each device. Editing the item description cannot repair blocked device permission, and allowing notifications does not broaden a narrow search.

If resuming would exceed the capacity available at that timing, review which active search is least useful now. Pause that search or review the current plan in Settings. Flipinator does not silently replace another search, combine marketplaces or move a search to a different timing.

Delete only when the setup has no future value

Delete an accidental duplicate, a search for an item you will not need again or a saved brief you no longer want associated with the account. Read the search name, marketplace and summary before confirming so a similarly named active search is not removed by mistake.

Do not assume a deleted search can be restored. Pause when there is any realistic chance you will reuse the setup. Deleting one search is also different from deleting the Flipinator account, which is handled from Settings and follows the separate account-deletion process.

A practical checklist

  • Pause when the need may return.
  • Edit one detail when the buying job is unchanged.
  • Use a separate search for another marketplace or item.
  • Check Feed and device permission before rewriting a quiet search.
  • Review capacity before resuming.
  • Read the full summary before saving changes.
  • Delete only when reuse is genuinely unlikely.

Common questions

Does a paused search use a slot?

No. One active search uses one slot at its selected timing. Pausing frees that slot while keeping the saved setup available.

Should I edit a search to watch another marketplace?

Create a separate search instead. Each search watches one marketplace, with its own location, status, results and slot.

Why did resuming fail?

Check the capacity available at that timing. You may need to pause another active search or review your plan in Settings before resuming.

Can I restore a deleted search?

Do not assume deletion can be reversed. Pause instead when you may want the setup again.
