Filter marketplace listings by location and a realistic pickup area

Begin with a place you actually chose

Select a location from the suggestions instead of leaving ambiguous text in the field. Check the suburb or city and country before saving. Similar place names can exist far apart, and the chosen marketplace may serve only some regions.

Set a distance you would act on for this item. A bookshelf that needs a hired van deserves a different collection area from a rare camera lens. Distance is not a driving-time calculation and does not account for ferries, traffic, access restrictions or the seller’s pickup window.

Use location text for specific include or exclude decisions

In Word and phrase filters, choose Location shown and Require a match or Exclude a match. This checks the listing’s location wording. It can help when a particular town or area repeatedly appears in results but is unsuitable for your trip.

A location-text filter is not a map boundary. Sellers and marketplaces may use abbreviations, broader regional labels or missing location information. A strict required suburb name can hide a nearby listing labelled with its city instead. Use these filters only when the recurring wording supports a dependable decision.

Separate collection from shipped purchases

Shipping availability and charges belong to the original listing. A distant match is not automatically deliverable, and a nearby seller may still require collection. State a delivery preference in your criteria when useful, then confirm the arrangement before making an offer.

If you regularly buy in two areas, create separate searches with clear names and independently confirmed places. Each active search uses its own slot at the selected interval. That makes a workday pickup area and a weekend travel area easier to manage than one overly broad search.
